Day 14 "Future"

Alright, lets get this out there.

Since this blog has thus far accumulated 0 watchers halfway through the project, I probably wont be posting as much. The project is still ongoing, I'm attempting to draw everyday, but I'll only make posts if something significant happens with this project, if I make a breakthrough or something. I'll also post some more pieces I truly enjoy.

If I get some followers, perhaps I'll change it back to a post a day.

There's no problems with me on a personal level. I'm just very busy, and I won't put too much time into something without benefitting someone. As far as I know, nobody has seen this blog, and thusly nobody has benefitted from it, so I see no reason to make a post 'every' day.

I'll post again soon though!

Day 12 "Restrained"

I'm quite ashamed that I'm going to have to let 3 days go by without any art posted/created. This weekend started with just some friends visiting from afar, thusly my time was occupied by them. I can't quite fit artwork into my time around them due to the sort of artwork I produce.

I suppose it should go noted that, unlike many artists I know, I'm unable to reveal my sort of work to persons around me. This is due largely in part by the misconception that it is 'furry' art. While this is not necessarily a bad thing (I am in no way stating that being a part of the fandom is a 'bad' thing), I simply cannot be misconceived as such in real life due to the career I am in.

I do not consider myself a part of the furry fandom, I am not a furry, and in my professional, and social life I cannot be considered as such, as it would severely damage my career and prospective jobs in the future. I wish all too much that I could freely show my artwork to others around me without consequence or judgement, but this is unfortunately not the case.

Getting back to the current happenings. My friends departed today, leaving me some time to myself finally. For some unknown reason, some memories returned to my mind as my friends left. These memories, though grand in every way, created a large nostalgia in me. Nostalgia, to me, is a major muse destroyer, and it borders on the line of depression. I was able to sketch another wolf head for reference, but it wasn't enough to be considered a 'piece.' I attempted to produce two difference works after this, but  I couldn't accomplish that. So I will try my hand again tomorrow, and hopefully this nostalgia will have passed by then.

Day 9 "Body Sketches" *Nudity*

I know, I'm sort of spamming with anatomy studies, but I think it's helping. Today I was focusing on the general body, arms, and legs. I have a particular problem with transitions between limbs and sections of limbs, so I try as much as I can to practice them here.

Tomorrow I might do a hair/fur study, well see then!

Day 8 "+Day 7"

So here's both day 7's and day 8's pieces. The one on the left is some sketches of head angles referenced from some photos I took. The piece on the right was made completely without references. I'm quite proud of it (save for the female's legs). It's based on 'werewolf' behavior, depicting a male doing a 'standover' over a female. Standovers are part of passive dominance between the wolfen sort, and are often ignored by confident wolves (such as the female there).

Until tomorrow!

Day 7 "Two for Tomorrow"

So, there's no way I'm gonna be able to post any art tonight. I've been busy basically from start to finish today, and in fact, will be studying for a biology test tomorrow. So I'll be staying up late, but my nose will be in books rather than my pencil drawer. So, I'll post two pieces tomorrow, I shouldn't be too busy after I get out of class.

Day 6 "Paws"

So I spent today working on those pesky paws that I have so much trouble with. I'm very pleased with the results. We'll see how the hands turn out, the ones drawn here were direct copies of another artist's sketch, but it helps me to draw them out myself.

The legs on the other hand were drawn using vague references from some photos I took. By vague I mean that most of the wolves in these photos were far away, and even then, I changed the anatomy quite a bit to make the paws look more 'werewolf-like.'

Sorry it wasn't an actual piece of art today, but I hope you enjoy some more anatomy studies!

Until tomorrow!

Day 5 *Nudity*

For those of you who do not wish to view nudity, I'd recommend skipping this post.

When I started this piece, I just wanted to depict a scene from one of my stories. I did that, but it turned out to be more of a male anatomy study. These are my two main original characters Kigai and Kira. I didn't really like how Kira came out, she's sort of hiding back there, and I wasn't able to put much detail on her without making the piece 'too' busy.

Surprisingly I used only one reference on this piece, and that was for Kigai's paw in the water there, everything else was straight from the head. I'm quite proud of this one, though there are still a few things I would have liked to change about it. But I hate picking up a piece after I put it down, usually I don't like the end result. So I'm leaving this at that.

Here's the piece by the way, I put it at the bottom of this post so that those who don't want to see nudity have the chance to back out.

Until tomorrow!
